Within this Expansion Pack, you’ll discover a new Imperial-class Star Destroyer, emblazoned with Grand Admiral Thrawn’s chimaera sigil. This difference is merely on the surface level, but you’ll soon discover that Thrawn’s changes to the way you build and fly your fleet go far beneath the surface. The changes start with two new types of ship cards that you can use to refit your Imperial Star Destroyers—the Kuat Refit and the Cymoon 1 Refit. Both new ship cards offer new variants of upgrade bars and attack dice that you’ll be able to use to batter the Rebellion into submission in entirely new ways.
This is not a complete game experience. A copy of the Star Wars: Armada Core Set is required to play.

The Chimera should be the furst addition to your Empire fleet after the base game.
It brings significantly more firepower, command and control.
I prefer thus to tge standard Star Imperial Destroyer. Great value.

This makes me think of the million best selling Heir to the Empire novel i read as a boy. Grand Admiral Thrawn's Star destroyer. This model has a distinct paint job so it stands out from other Star Destroyers, i assume it is based on the newer cartoon that shoehorned Thrawn in to boost ratings. Has good stats, extra ship cards and multiple copies of the upgrade cards (non uniques) so is a great addition for the Armada game. You also get two Mandalorian assault shuttles(they call them fighters but they are more like boarding craft) which can be used strategically to hamper enemy ships abilities to give orders, which hopefully lets you pulverize your opponent with your Star Destroyer.
One note on Model quality, they can have a warped or bent prow. To remedy this, immerse the prow in hot (not boiling) water for 30 seconds to a minute, then manually bend it back to shape. The model is sturdy enough to take "some" strain so it shouldn't snap. If you need to you can do this several times if it is badly warped. Otherwise a really good model, good cards and good bonus ships.

This expansion is jam packed with value - 17 upgrade cards, 2 fighters and 3 sets of ship cards all included.
Stand out cards include Grand Admiral Thrawn who loves to command a Fleet of large ships and Captain Brunson who adds can help your ship avoid a devastating hit.
The Chimara title card turns an ISD into the perfect flagship (able to buff a fleet with its versatile Fleet Commands like Intensify Firepower) and the Sovereign title gives versatility with it's token manipulation.
Grand Admiral Thrawn above his Chimaera and flanked by either another ISD or VSD and some fighters is a magnificent sight.
